January 29 – Pray that we have endurance and a deeper sense of God’s power through our efforts.

Theme:

Pray that we have endurance and a deeper sense of God’s power through our efforts.

Devotional:

It’s so easy in my own life to try to do things with my own strength. To aim at the next job that needs to be done and to push through the exhaustion. But sooner or later I can find myself collapsing because all I’ve been doing is striving on my own and not leaning into the strength of the Lord. I want to jump into things I am not ready for, not yet. The passage has reminded me that real strength comes from God. As I strive to that which God has called me to all I really need to do is walk in obedience in the daily things, and my father in heaven, God almighty, will grant me all the strength that I need to have all the endurance necessary to reach the goal of the vision He set before me. I love how Oswald Chambers put it, “When obedience is in the ascendant, He will tax the remotest star and the last grain of sand to assist you with all His almighty power.”

Prayer:

Heavenly father, as we near the end of our time of prayer and fasting as a church, I pray that we would remember to trust you and lean into your strength that gives us endurance as we pursue the vision, and the mission you have given us as a church over this next year and beyond. We can’t wait to see what you’re going to do with us to expand your Kingdom, and bring Your name glory, in this city, in this country, and then our world. All glory be to you Lord. In Jesus mighty name Amen.
