Fighting Fire

Theme:

Pray for the healing of unbelievers.

Devotion:

I know in my life I have felt the Holy Spirit; I have felt led to pray for people who are unbelievers and sometimes I act and sometimes I don’t. I know I need to act when I feel the Holy Spirit. Here you can see Paul acting out his faith even when life is tough. He just had a shipwreck. Life isn’t going great for him, but he found an opportunity to serve the Lord, even when it wasn’t in Paul’s plan. But it was God’s plan for them to be there to pray for the unbelievers. Since Paul prayed for Publius’ father, he was healed, others saw it and came to faith through it. He also pointed everything to God like we need to as well.

Prayer:

Lord, help me see the needs of others around me, even when it feels inconvenient or difficult. Teach me to be sensitive to the Holy Spirit, pray for the unbelievers, act in faith, use me even wherever I go, and bring hope and healing to others. Help me point the unbelieving to you, Amen.
