Pray that we completely submit to God’s Plan for us

Theme:

Pray that we completely submit to God’s Plan for us

Devotional:

In my own life, I am afraid that I often have selfish or at least misguided desires. Even in praying that God’s Will be done, I admit that my own desires creep in. Maybe I secretly hope that a ministry is effective because it might make me look good. Or perhaps I hope that the church grows because then others may validate me. The scripture above reminds me to submit completely to the mind of Christ and not to worldly measures of success, and in doing so learn what God’s more perfect will is, one that is for His glory, not mine.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I pray that we as a church enter this new year completely surrendered to your will. Renew our minds so that we are firmly committed to your Glory and Praise. May our selfish motives fade away and may we be completely content and satisfied in your perfect will. Amen.

  1. Lord, please help me to not buy into what the world try’s to tell me is important. But to submit to your will, which is far greater and eternal. What the world has to offer is so temporary and worthless.

God, continue to shape my heart this year. Give me the faith to walk in boldness and to rest knowing that You are in control and are guiding my steps. My life is yours.
